Well, that’s exactly what happened when two Belfast lads met on a new TV dating show, Undressed.
Ronan Rice, 22, and year-old James Hall were matched together for the new reality show, where singletons meet for the first time in a room, and their first mission is to undress one another. Speaking to Belfast Live, James said he was prompted to apply for the show as he was disillusioned with the dating scene in Northern Ireland. He said: “I’m fed up with standard dating, especially on the gay scene, it’s terrible, especially in Belfast.
Asked about the experience of getting undressed by a stranger on camera, James added: “I didnt really think about it up until the point where it was about to happen and you sort of see it on TV before and think it doesn’t look that bad and then when you are there, it’s a bit like, ‘oh my god’. He told Belfast Live: “I’m so body conscious normally and that was the part that really scared me, realising I had to take my top off.
It has really helped boost my confidence definitely. James and Ronan say they’re both really excited to see the show in full when it airs next week, and added they’ve had the full support of their families. We can reveal James and Ronan are still in touch since filming but you’ll have to wait and see the show on November 9 to see how they got on.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts is already in Australia and is being kept in the dark about who she’ll be camping with on the reality show.
You might have heard about Undressed. The match-making experiment has been a huge hit in Italy and is headed to Australia later this year. For the uninitiated, each episode of Undressed features two pairs of strangers going through a similar, yet entirely unique, experience. The couples meet in a room furnished only with a double bed and a large-screen TV. Instructions and questions flash up on the screen, guiding the strangers through the process.
The first directive is for the participants to strip each other down to their underwear. As the experiment continues, the couple get into the bed, and answer a series of probing and deeply personal questions. The aim is to foster as much intimacy between the two in as short a time as possible. At the conclusion of the proceedings, each person is given the choice to stay and get to know their counterpart better or to leave.
If they choose to stay, the cameras are switched off at that point. Each participant will undergo psychological testing before being approved to appear on Undressed. It might sound like Undressed is about titillation — and that may be a side product of watching strangers in their underwear getting to know each other — but the series has a much deeper focus than that.
That said, there is a strong emphasis on the science and psychological theory of two strangers engaging in accelerated intimacy. Plus, due to the unique approach SBS has taken with the local version of Undressed , a number of other issues will also be examined, primarily the preconceptions and prejudices that exist in Australia concerning race, sexuality and disability.
